⚙️ Features:
-
Low Power Consumption: Efficient operation at common circuit voltages.
-
Easy to Integrate: Standard axial leads for breadboarding, soldering, and PCB mounting.
-
High Visibility: Green is a highly visible color for “power on,” “active,” or “go” status indicators.
-
Wide-Angle Glow: Diffused lens creates a soft, even light without a sharp hotspot.
-
Long Lifespan: Solid-state reliability with typical lifespans exceeding 50,000 hours.
📦 Applications:
-
Status & Indicator Lights: Power, activity, and mode indicators in consumer electronics and DIY devices.
-
Prototyping & Education: Essential for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and breadboard circuits.
-
Panel & Backlighting: Illuminating switches, dials, and instruments.
-
Model & Decorative Lighting: For scale models, costumes, and art projects.
-
Basic Circuit Learning: Fundamental component for understanding diodes, polarity, and current limiting.
🔧 Usage Guide:
-
Always Use a Series Resistor! Connect directly to a voltage source will destroy the LED.
-
Polarity Identification:
-
Cathode (-): Shorter lead. Flat side on the LED lens rim.
-
Anode (+): Longer lead.
-
-
Resistor Calculation: R=(Vsupply−Vf)/IfR=(Vsupply−Vf)/If
-
Example for 5V supply: Using Vf=2.2VVf=2.2V and If=20mAIf=20mA:
R=(5V−2.2V)/0.020A=140ΩR=(5V−2.2V)/0.020A=140Ω. A 220Ω resistor is a common, safe choice.
-
-
Soldering: Use a low-wattage iron. Avoid prolonged heat on the leads.
⚠️ Important Notes:
-
Polarity Sensitive: Will not light if installed backwards.
-
Current Limit: Do not exceed 20-30mA continuous current.
-
Heat Sensitivity: Avoid excessive heat during soldering.
-
ESD Protection: Handle with care to avoid static discharge.
