1N4005 vs. 1N4007: The 1N4007 has a higher voltage rating (1000V). For 600V or less, 1N4005 is a cost-effective alternative.

Not for high frequency. These are standard recovery diodes (slow). For high-speed switching, use Schottky or fast recovery diodes (e.g., UF4007, 1N4148).

Heat dissipation. At 1A continuous, ensure adequate PCB copper area or use heatsinking if necessary.
