⚠️ Important Notes:
-
Half-duplex only. The MAX485 is a half-duplex transceiver; communication must be directional (send or receive, not simultaneously).
-
Termination resistor. Enable the 120Ω termination resistor (if available) on devices at both ends of the RS485 bus.
-
Logic level. Verify whether your module is 5V or 3.3V tolerant to avoid damaging your microcontroller.
-
Common ground. For reliable communication, connect GND between all devices on the RS485 bus (optional but recommended).
-
Cable. Use twisted-pair cable (e.g., CAT5/6) for RS485 A/B lines for best noise immunity.
