🔧 Usage Guide:

  1. Always Use a Current-Limiting Resistor! Connecting directly to a power source will destroy the LED.

  2. Identify Polarity:

    • Cathode (-): Shorter lead. Flat side on the LED lens rim.

    • Anode (+): Longer lead.

  3. Resistor Calculation: Use Ohm’s Law: R=(Vsupply−Vf)/If.

    • Example for 5V supply: R=(5V−2.2V)/0.020A=140Ω. A standard 220Ω resistor is a safe, common choice.

  4. Soldering: Use a low-temperature iron and avoid prolonged heat on the leads to protect the internal structure.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Polarity Sensitive: Will not light if installed backwards.

  • Do Not Exceed Ratings: Operating above 20-30mA continuously will drastically shorten lifespan or cause immediate failure.

  • Heat Sensitivity: Excessive heat during soldering can damage the LED.

  • ESD Protection: Handle with care to avoid static discharge damage.
